Aromatic, rich and vivacious new blend crafted from indigenous Hungarian grape varieties. Opulent nose with distinct notes of pear, peach and gooseberry complemented by white floral aromas, vanilla and a hint of green herbs. Oak-fermentation and lees-ageing contribute buttery, toasty flavours. The characteristics of the terroir are echoed in notes of ripe fruits and vanilla on the palate, with an intense mineral finish. A complex and balanced structure, this is a sophisticated and velvety wine.

Egri Csillag is a recent innovation from the Eger wine region in northern Hungary. The first samples were made in 2010, in an attempt to present the market with a white sister wine to the famed red blend, Egri Bikavér (Bull’s Blood). Blended from an array of indigenous and international grape varieties, Egri Csillag gives winemakers a free hand to create their own idea of a youthful, refreshing and easy-drinking white.
