ProWien 2019 Update

Hungary in 2019 has put in, yet again an impressive appearance at ProWein. Over 40 wineries exhibiting, a very busy stand with ten masterclasses, five MWs contributing to the success, a colourful array of wines be it dry or sweet, white, red or rose and lovely canapés served, next to a live band playing created the right ambience.

We had many visitors form the UK, all major buyers visited the stand and we couldn’t stop pouring, but who can complain? Hungarian wine is on peoples’ horizon.

Special thanks to Caroline Gilby MW’s, Peter McCombie MW, Elizabeth Gabay MW, and Tim Atkin MW on the UK side, whom, all with a full house masterclass helped us and the organisers, to spread the word on the astonishing wine revolution that Hungary has undergone in the last two decades. Today, many young Hungarian winemakers successfully combine their international education with the local traditions to make world-class wines.

Special thanks also, as always for the hard work of all the winemakers and the Hungarian Tourism Agency for organising this years’ event.

If you would like to request more information about the wineries exhibited, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
